CLAT Syllabus

CLAT is organized every year nearly in the May, to take admissions for the 1037 seats available in the 14 NLU. To prepare for this exam you need to follow syllabus for CLAT. The first common law admission test was taken in 2008 by the NLU, Bangalore and scheduled to be organized by the other NLU's every year one by one based on their year of establishment. Common law admission test syllabus can be obtained from our exam.edurite portal. The paper includes 5 sections: English section includes questions based on Comprehension and Grammar to check the vocabulary, grammar and passage understanding skills of the candidates. General Knowledge section includes questions based on the current affairs which are featuring in the main stream. Numerical Ability test candidate's basic mathematical skills, questions asked in this section are from the maths syllabus of up to class 10th. Logical reasoning is also included in the clat exam syllabus to check candidates ability to find the logic or reason behind any pattern or situation.

A total of 200 objective type questions have been asked of 200 marks, i.e. each question carry one marks. Question distribution is as follows: 40 questions from English, 50 questions from Current Affairs, 40 questions from Logical Reasoning, 20 questions from basic Mathematics and 50 Legal Aptitude. Time given to answer these questions is 2 hours. Before practicing the syllabus for clat , it is necessary to know the exam pattern so that you can find which area need to give more importance than other.

For PG courses, common law admission test syllabus is a bit different, the areas included in it are Law Of Contracts, Constitutional Law and Legal Theory, Law of Torts and Criminal Law. Total number of questions asked are 100 objective type one mark each and 2 descriptive type questions each of 50 marks so a total of 200 marks paper. The time given to answer is 2 hours.
