GRE

The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is a different exam as compared to other entrance examinations as it is a computer adaptive test, which is exclusively organized on a global level by the ETS (Educational Testing Services), United States of America. In India, the examination is administered by the ETS representatives. The GRE scores are of paramount importance in various graduate schools and universities of USA as well as other countries. Through the GRE test, a candidate can pursue higher studies abroad and also get admission in varied streams such as graduate studies, research programs, fellowships programs, etc. Apart from GRE scores, there are several other processes involved in getting admission to graduate schools and universities of USA.

The GRE is categorized into two different parts, one is the GRE general test and the other is the GRE subject test. A primary objective of the GRE general test is to evaluate the candidates' overall knowledge on parameters like verbal reasoning, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing skills. However, the GRE subject test measures undergraduate achievement in eight specific fields of study, which includes Mathematics, Physics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biology, Computer Science, Psychology and also Literature in English. The GRE scores not only evaluate the intellectual capability of students but also help them financially. Based on the GRE scores, students are categorized into different scholarship programs.
