To get admission in the full time MBA (IB) program, a candidate needs to clear the IIFT entrance examination, which is solely conducted by the IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade). IIFT is a well-recognized university and has two campuses, which are based in New Delhi and Kolkata. The entrance examination is being organized in various centers of India such as Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow,Allahabad, Jaipur, Dehradun, Mumbai, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi and Chennai.
IIFT has 220 seats for the full time MBA (IB) program and is considered as a prestigious and desired B-school after the IIM. The two year residential MBA (International Business) program is being offered in New Delhi, Kolkata and Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania) centers of the IIFT. This management course is also offered with finance, trade, system and marketing specializations. Besides this, a three-year part time MBA (International Business) course is also available in the New Delhi and Kolkata campuses. Moreover, the university also has courses like executive Master's in International Business, Certificate in Export Management and a Post Graduate Certificate in International Business.
The IIFT entrance examination consists of 200 marks questions in English comprehension, general knowledge and awareness, logical reasoning and quantitative analysis. The entire paper has only multiple choice questions, which have to be written in English language by the candidates within the time period of 2 hours. A candidate with a minimum 3 year Bachelors degree or an equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university is eligible for the IIFT admission test. Final year candidates are also eligible for the entrance exam. Further, there is no age limit set by the university for appearing in the IIFT examination. On the basis of the written test, the university shortlists eligible candidates for the second round i.e. The group discussion, essay writing and the interview. With these four examination rounds, ideal candidates are selected by IIFT every year for its management programs. The admission procedure for foreign nationals/NRI/Children of NRI's are different as they are selected on the basis of their GMAT (General Management Aptitude Test) scores.
