Management Aptitude Test or MAT is an entrance test for MBA Examinations. This well-known examination is being executed since 1988.In 2003 this examination was recognized as a national level test by the Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD. This reputed entrance test is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA).Based on the score of this examination, students get admission in ranked MBA colleges and Business Schools. Several top colleges and Business Schools consider the MAT results. This exam is the gateway to take admission in MBA or an equivalent course. After CAT, MAT is seen as a tough exam for students, who plan to do an MBA or a PGDM course. Every year around 2 lakh students appear for this exam, as the MAT exam is seen as an essential step to get admission to Business Schools and Colleges approved by AICTE in India.
All India Management Association or AIMA conducts this examination 4 times in a year. The examination is scheduled in February, May, September and December. This exam includes a well structured syllabus with subjects like Social Science, Literature, Mathematics etc. Central for Management Services (CMS) is a part of AIMA, and it successfully conducts this exam. The total number of students selected in this exam are 100.
Important Dates for MAT 2012 (December)
The exam date for MAT 2012 (December) has been declared by AIMA, and it is scheduled on 2nd December, 2012 (Sunday) 10.00 am to 12.30 pm. The Computer test is scheduled on 8th December, 2012. Different time slots will be available on the same day. For the MAT Exam, students can do an online registration, and forms are available up to 14th November, 2012. The last date to receive the online registration form along with required documents including the demand draft is 17th November, 2012.
Students can collect the forms offline. The last date for sale of this form is 14th November, 2012 and the last date of submission at AIMA, New Delhi is 17th November, 2012.
The Process of Registration :
For online registration, the students need to log in http:// apps.aima.in/matdec12
Students can fill the details along with the information and enclose a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 1200/- .The drafts should be drawn in favor of 'All India Management Association'. In case of an online registration, students can make the payment by using credit cards. The necessary instructions are mentioned on the website.
Students can collect the forms from the selected branches of the Bank of Baroda and the Axis Bank. The forms are available at the study centers of AIMA, and the premises of AIMA, New Delhi. For offline forms, student can make cash payment of Rs. 1200/-.
Eligibility for the MAT Exam:
The candidate should have completed his /her graduation in any discipline from any recognized university. Final year graduation students are also eligible for this test.
Age is not a limitation for this test. Aspirants of any age can sit for the MAT Examination.
50 % aggregate marks in graduation are required to appear in this exam. This criteria is set by the AIMA.
The Structure of the MAT exam :
The Exam has been structured with five different papers, and each paper measures different skills of the student. A student needs to attempt 200 questions and the exam is scheduled for 150 minutes.
Paper 1 : Structured to scale the ability of language comprehension.
Paper II : Structured to measure mathematical skills
Paper III : Structured to judge the ability to handle data analysis and sufficiency
Paper IV : Measures the student's intelligence and capability for critical reasoning
Paper V : Measures understanding and knowledge of the Indian and global environment

The candidates who have registered using the online and offline forms, can download their admit cards from this link

AIMA will generate admit cards for both the Paper Based Test and the Computer Based Test.
The candidate's details and the examination details including the venue and the time slot will be mentioned in the admit card. The candidates for the computer based test need to follow the allotted time slot. They can download their admit card 7 days before the Paper Test.
Separate Admit Cards will not be available.
